• Excellent electrical insulation properties (especially high-frequency insulation), white and hard but brittle, produces a metallic sound when dropped on the ground, with light transmittance second only to that of organic glass, resistant to water, and has good chemical stability. It has excellent flame retardancy and is an incombustible plastic.

• The strength is average, the rigidity is very good, but it is brittle and prone to stress cracking, not resistant to organic solvents such as benzene and gasoline. It can withstand temperatures up to 260 degrees Celsius for long-term use and remains stable in air or nitrogen at 400 degrees Celsius. By adding glass fibers or other reinforcing materials, the impact strength can be greatly improved, as well as the heat resistance and other mechanical properties, with a density increased to 1.6-1.9, and a molding shrinkage rate reduced to 0.15-0.25%, making it suitable for manufacturing heat-resistant parts, insulating components, chemical instruments, optical instruments, and other components.

Applications of PPS (China Brand)

In various fields of the machinery industry, nylon (PA), polyoxymethylene (POM), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polysulfone (PSU) have defects and cannot meet technical requirements. However, polyimide (PI), polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and polyamide-imide (PAI) are too expensive. Therefore, the selection of PPS as an ideal engineering plastic is appropriate.

• Machinery Industry: In the machinery industry, PPS is particularly used for the preparation of components in high humidity and strong corrosive environments. It is used for housings, structural parts, wear-resistant components, and sealing materials, such as pump casings, impellers, valves, bearings, bearing brackets, piston rings, gears, pulleys, fans, flowmeter components, flanges, universal joints, counters, level gauges, etc.

• Electronics and Electrical Industry: PPS is used in microelectronic component packaging, connectors, wiring harnesses, sockets, coil frames, motor casings, electromagnetic regulators, TV high-frequency head shafts, relays, trimmer capacitors, fuse holders, recorders, magnetic therapy devices, and other components. It is also applied to precision instruments such as computers, timers, tachometers, photocopiers, cameras, temperature sensors, and housings and components of various measuring instruments.

• Automotive Industry: PPS accounts for about 45% of the automotive industry, mainly used for functional parts of cars; igniters, heaters, carburetors, clutches, transmissions, gearboxes, bearing brackets, lampshades, bumpers, fans, exhaust systems, as well as components of rearview mirrors and car light sockets. It can replace metal to make exhaust manifold cyclinders, water pump impellers, pneumatic signal regulators, etc.

• Household Appliances: Protective coatings and components for hair dryers, curling irons, hair dryers, straighteners, microwave ovens, coffee pots, clothes dryers, ironing boards, rice cookers, etc.
